Summary:
This position is responsible for performing administrative duties associated with the day-to-day business of Therapeds Works.
Works under the direction of the Owner and clinic supervisor.
Is responsible for performing specific office duties, including, but not limited to patient records maintenance and filing, patient appointments, telephone response, claims and billing processing, and Therapeds Works correspondence.
Details of Duties:
1.
Greeting and checking in all patients 2.
Assemble and process all patient information and clinical records for new and existing patients a.
Obtaining insurance information and cards for appointment and load to EMR 3.
Manage office phone including incoming calls, returning calls, checking voicemail 4.
Scheduling appointments for therapist including new evaluations, reschedules, cancellations, no shows, ect.
Updating schedules in EMR 5.
Verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations for insurance for disciplines offered at Therapeds Works a.
Explaining insurance benefits to patients 6.
Collecting co payment and deductibles in line with patient insurance plan.
Collecting private pay payments for services rendered 7.
Cleanliness of office and emptying trash, light cleaning of restrooms and waiting room daily 8.
Checking emails daily and executing request form emails 9.
Checking for office supplies and ordering or obtaining them 10.
Check mail daily at clinics Education:
High School graduate required.
Some college and or technical school training preferred.
Training in typing, computer operations and programs, filing, dictation, medical terminology and office procedures.
Experience:
Previous experience in typing, filing, dictation, medical terminology, and office procedures required or sufficient training and class work to compensate can be verified.
Knowledge of insurance billing, and medical terminology necessary.
Must type at least 55 WPM.
Must be responsible and capable of maintaining patient confidentiality as well as supervision of other administrative staff members.
Some accounting background helpful.
